How to keep teammates engaged

We suggest you provide two different sets of training for different roles in the team: New or less experienced teammates who would ask more questions Seniors and managers who are usually the ones that answer questions 1. New or less experienced teammates: simply start with /kipwise Rule of thumb: always start with /kipwise [keyword] command whenever there is a question to ask. You either get the answer directly, which is the perfect case. If you cannot find the answer, submit a question after searching. This is an important step to improve the team knowledge base with new content and better search results for teammates in the future. 2. Seniors and managers: help the team to be more engaged The major benefit of Kipwise is to help managers and seniors spend less time answering repeated questions, which they should have more responsibilities to help maintain the knowledge base from daily conversations too. 1. Always save answers and important discussions to Kipwise when they happen on Slack. 2. Answer questions with existing Pages Always answer questions by posting the search results from Kipwise using /kipwise [keyword] in order to teach teammates to use /kipwise before asking questions in the future. Teammates will get used to searching before asking with more managers/seniors answering them with Kipwise content.

How to build up your knowledge base from scratch

Here are the steps to help you kick start your internal knowledge management process from scratch. 1. Initial content Create folders for different teams and set different access rights if needed. Suggest to have most of the content visible to the whole team except sensitive ones like HR, Financial related information (some teams make them public to everyone as well) Create a few general FAQs as initial content (e.g. office wifi password) Import some existing important information if any. Contact us if you'd need further help in importing content from other platforms. Don't worry if you cannot include everything at the beginning - because that's how Kipwise helps your team build up the knowledge base from your daily work with step #2 and #3. 2. Teach every teammate to use /kipwise Rule of thumb: always start with /kipwise [keyword] command whenever there is a question to ask. You either get the answer directly, which is the perfect case. If you cannot find the answer, submit a question after searching. This is an important step to improve the team knowledge base with new content and better search results for teammates in the future. 3. Get the managers and seniors onboard The major benefit of Kipwise is to help managers and seniors spend less time answering repeated questions, which they should have more responsibilities to help maintain the knowledge base from daily conversations too. 4. Maintain the knowledge base and keep it fresh and updated We are working on a few new features to help the team maintain the quality and correctness of the team knowledge base. Stay tuned!
